New Challenges for Engineers

This poster aims to reconnect the practice of civil engineering to its 20th century roots, a time when civil engineers saw themselves as public leaders delivering innovative public works solutions to increasing numbers of urban dwellers.  Those public works have shaped the growth of cities, and we are now at a point where the best engineering demands a critical understanding of the problems today’s cities face coupled with an understanding of how public works impact cities.
