The new headworks facility enhances the existing treatment processes and the capacity of the City of Washougal Wastewater Treatment Plant. The new headworks facility was constructed on 12,000 CY of fill within the existing surge lagoon and includes a dual channel headworks screening and grit facility featuring a new 6.5 MGD mechanical screen and 12.0 MGD spiral grit chamber. The bypass channel was designed to accommodate a future parallel mechanical screen for a total capacity of 12.0 MGD. Site improvements included associated piping, 500 feet of new water main and a building enclosure for the new facility.
